The actor Ron Cephas Jones, well known for his role as William Hill in the television drama “This Is Us,” has passed away. The Emmy-winning performer passed away at the age of 66.
Ron Cephas Jones, who played a guest role on the CBS television series and was awarded two Emmys for his performance as William Hill, passed away recently. An ongoing pulmonary condition was the cause of the actor’s death, according to a statement released by his representative to People on August 19. Jones was 66 years old.
According to his representative, his warmth, attractiveness, caring nature, and heart were experienced by everybody who had had the opportunity to know him during every phase of his career. He had a generous heart.
He began his professional life in the Nuyorican Poets Cafe, and his enthusiasm for the stage has been evident throughout his entire professional life, including his latest appearance at ‘Clyde’s’ on Broadway, for which he won the Drama Desk Award and received a nomination for a Tony Award. He also started his profession at the Nuyorican Poetry Cafe.
The press release continued, saying that “Ron’s inner beauty, as well as soul, became evident to the enormous crowd during his multi-Emmy topnotch portrayal on ‘This is Us.'”
Jones portrayed the father by birth of Randall Pearson, who was portrayed on the show by another Emmy winner Sheldon K. Brown. The series ran for a total of six seasons before it was canceled in 2022. The late actor’s role was a recovered drug user and music musician who struggled with stomach cancer and ultimately passed away from the disease.
Jones portrayed Romero in “Mr. Robot,” Bobby Fish including the show “Luke Cage,” and in the past few years, he featured on the criminal thriller “Truth Be Told” for Apple TV+ as Shreve, the biological father of Octavia Spencer’s primary character. Besides his part in “This Is Us,” Jones additionally starred in other roles in “Mr. Robot,” “Luke Cage,” and “Truth Be Told.” In addition, Jones was in the movies “Across the Universe” along with “Paid in Full.”
The 34-year-old artist is well-known for creating the parts of Maria Reynolds along with in the Broadway production of “Hamilton,” for which she won an Emmy. Together with her father, Jones, she became the first father-daughter pair to win Emmys in a single year when she obtained the best actress in an A fraction Form Humor or Drama Series for her performance as Tyisha in “#FreeRayshawn” and he obtained his 2nd creative art Emmy for Guest Performer in a Series of Dramas for his work on “This Is Us.”
