Two weeks ago, there were severe service disruptions all over the world, with many areas blocked in the US, and full blockage in Pakistan. Since then, Amazon decided to bring its cloud computing to Pakistan.
By bringing their web services to Pakistan, Amazon is currently working to influence public policy. The public in Pakistan has long demanded the digital revolution in the country with major giants like Amazon, PayPal, and YouTube to recognize Pakistan and build their country offices.
With this, Amazon has already registered a local office in Pakistan with the name of Amazon Data Services Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd. Amazon is currently working on building a team from Pakistan for its Amazon Web Services (AWS). With this team and a local office, Amazon will adopt cloud computing in the country.
The database in SECP states that the country office of Amazon is led by Mr. Paul Andrew Macpherson, who is the CEO here. Moreover, Mr. Shoaib Munir is the director here.

A spokesperson from Amazon, on the condition of keeping his name private, told media that Amazon is looking for the public policy specialists from Pakistan. This specialist will be assigned the task to look for the solution regarding cloud computing legal frames. They will also look at different solutions to remove all the blockage on cloud computation related to regulations and politics.
AWS in Pakistan states that the “Framework on IT Governance and Risk Management in Financial Institutions” is led by the State Bank of Pakistan. It directs all banks to use cloud computing technology only if all the systems and service providers are kept within the country.
Based on the regulation from SBP, if AWS wants to work in Pakistan, it must set up its data center as well as a cloud server in the country.
